61 GC settings

Postby digital_trucker » Sat Jun 16, 2007 12:37 pm

I've got a 16 year old .61 Gold Cup. It hasn't been run in 10 years. I'm having troubles getting the needles set properly (mainly the idle). What are the out-of-the-box settings for the slide carb?

Well, I'll keep fiddling with it then. I've just about got it nailed down after this last weekend anyway. I read all those, but thanks for the links :) The reason I asked about out-of-box settings was because when this thing was new (16+ years ago) out of the box it started on the very first flip and I never needed to change the idle setting at all. On a side note, how much slop should there be between the pin on the slide and the bellcrank on the carb? I've got a bit of play there...more than it used to have if my memory isn't failing me.

Thanks for all your help.

Just a little bit. The only issue this will cause is at idle because sometime the barrel is sucked closed and however much slop you have will allow it to close that much more without your interaction.
