HB 40 crankcase gasket size

Postby bamawig » Sun Feb 06, 2005 6:23 am

I purchased a couple of gasket sets ( part no. 291001) for a HB 40. The set contains two gaskets that fit the rear cover. The front cover ( crank itself) is larger than the rear and the gaskets won't fit. I don't see any other gaskets listed for the crankcase. What gives? Thanks in advance for your help.

Yes it will fit. Soak it in some WD40 and it should slide over the bearing. These are the only ones we ever had for the HB40

I have a late .40 PDP and need the rear gasket. I know you have them but I was hoping to get the old engine running for this weekend. I made a gasket from some high temp non asbestos material that is exactly 1/32" thick. Because the old gasket was a melted mess when I pulled the case I don't know how thick the orginal was. Is the gasket material too thick? Will it cause a problem until i can receive some new gaskets from you?

Thanks
Sean
