How to remove prop driver on HB PDP .40

Postby rbreckwoldt » Tue Feb 28, 2006 12:15 pm

I have an unused HB PDP .40 that has a crack in its' prop driver. How do I remove the prop driver without damaging other parts of the engine, I have tried just pulling it off, but have been unsuccessful. I am leery of using any other tool, such as a screw driver or pliers, for fear of damaging the engine, as it is in pristine condition otherwise.

The prop driver is on a tappered collet. You must pull it off or press the crankshaft back which requires the engine to be disassembled. This must be done with an arbor press and the front housing must be supported properly.

Don't use a screwdriver to pry it off.
