Problem with HB.20

Postby packard » Mon Feb 19, 2007 1:25 am

Hello, I just found this wonderful forum.

I bought a HB .20, new in box. It started very well and I flew some tanks to my satisfaction. I use the engine in controlline. So , during my last flight, the engine strted to run lean and there was no way that I could intervene.

After this one lean run, the engine had lost its compression to the extend that it will not start anymore. Question: is this normal engine behaviour? Or is there a trick that I am missing? Through this forum I now know that this version engine does not have a top L-ring. If wear made the cylinder/piston fit sloppy, are there still new sets around for me to buy?

The cause of the lean run was probably debris in the carb.

The HB .20 has a lapped iron piston and steel liner while the .21 and .25 have dykes rings

the part number is 33-1101
