Atwood 0.049 Glow Plug & Owner's Manual

Postby Hoffman » Tue Sep 05, 2006 5:01 pm

Hello, I would like advise on the correct glow plug to use on my Atwood 0.049, for marine use. I would also like an owner's manual or original instructions.

I have looked here for a manual:
http://www.mecoa.com/manual.htm

I have also looked here for glow plug information:
http://www.mecoa.com/vintage/atwood/atwood-parts.htm
http://www.mecoa.com/vintage/atwood/index.htm
https://shop.mecoa.com/shopdisplayproducts.asp?id=117
http://www.mecoa.com/faq/glowplug/glowplug.htm

Thanks for your time.

If your Atwood uses a regular glow pluf a K&B 1S short plug will work

http://www.mecoa.com/acc/glowplug/glowplug.htm

If you want the glow head assembly for the Atwood

https://shop.mecoa.com/shopdisplayproducts.asp?id=117

we are making parts for them right now so maybe we have some done in a month.

Thanks for the information, but I have a few more questions:

1- Can I purchase a complete Atwood 0.049 w/ tank from MECOA? When visiting this link (1) and reading MECOA's information (paisted below), I am under the impression that MECOA sells complete Atwood engines. But, I can not find a price here (2).

From MECOA's site,

"All castings are made from original molds and all machined parts are held to exacting standards so you won’t be able to tell ours from one produced 40 years ago.

These have been assembled using many original parts and castings. We were able to acquire the remaining inventory from Atwood's original production, so most parts are 40 years old. The balance of components are made or machined by us to higher standards than the original.

Engines include original instructions."

2- May I download and or purchase the "original instructions" for my Atwood or the Atwood engine that MECOA produces?

Thanks again for your time.
