I have a couple of Sky Devil repros I got from Terry Toopes when he was producing them back in the 80's in Del Mar. I need some parts for the timers. Are they available from Mecoa?

Terry produced them long before Mecoa acquired the rights. He gave me mine when I was working for Hobby Shack as a favor for hiding his machine equipment during a messy divorce. That was in the middle 80's and he made them before that. I'm pretty sure you got the rights from him or the person that bought the rights from Terry.

I made them for Terry in 1981 or 1982. RJL Industries is my company and I made all of them including the molds for him. He did not have the equipment to make them.

He never mentioned that. However he must have owned the rights as it was his company selling them. Terry said the rod was made by K&B and it has the big "R" on it like a K&B 61 had. I ran one of them once on glow. Got the neighbor's attention as the noise was "most impressive". Do you have the movable point and insulator? I need instructions too. All I got from terry was the the engine, parts of the timers and the boxes.

The parts were actually from my RJL K.61 (Kraft .61) because Terry wanted the price as low as possible. I made the tooling and it was always mine.

Moving point is 19.25
Point insulator is 7.20

Last I heard, Terry died a few years back. Is that so? I just opened a brand new Kraft 61 I got from Phil Kraft many years ago and by golly, the rod in it is exactly the same as the ones in my Sky Devils. I noticed that the O-ring for the back plate is missing. Never ran the engine. Live and learn. Again, do you have the instructions for the Sky Devil. I wanted to see if all I was missing was the movable point and insulator. Was there someone else between you and terry that sold the Sky Devils? I see them on ebay as being someone else's "sky Devils". If you made them for Terry it would seem weird that someone else owned the "rights" after him but before you. But then there is a lot of wrong info on ebay.

Another Question. Did you make the K61 for Phil? I know he didn't make them himself.

I met you once at the Puyallup, Washington model expo. At least I think it was there. May have been at Pasadena. I'm getting old and forget. Half the time I can't remember my name. I went to many trade shows when I worked for H Shack.

Randy,

I need the fixed point for the Edco Sky Devil. How much?? It's a repro and it is the Car configuration but has the airplane displacement of .65.

I just checked Mecoa's web page. It shows the movable point at $14.75. Also doesn't show the fixed point on the price list. Do you have them? I need two.
