Anderson Spitfire reproductions

Postby kalishek » Tue Apr 26, 2011 7:41 am

Can anyone tell me if there is a way to identify a Vintage Anderson Spitfire .65 from a reproduction? Which are better the ringed or Lapped piston engines? I also have a Forster .99 that looks old, and has no markings at all on the engine. Did the original Forster engines have serial or any king of information on them? Is there a publication that would explain all these questions in one book? Thank you.

All Anderson Spitfires were made from original molds. Some made by Marvin Miller had an "M" stamped on it.

Other than that there is no way to tell the difference.

As for the Forster 99 once again all parts were made from original molds. All production we made had RJL stamped on them. Engines made by Remco has a slightly shorter crankshaft.
